How to Share a Contact Record with into a Community from a Contact Record

Learn to quickly share a contact record from the Contact Record "More" dropdown menu.

*Note: Be sure to communicate your expectations for the Community Members to follow up with accepted Contacts.

Step 1

Open a Contact Record you want to share with a Community in Contacts.

Step 2

Click on the blue "Activity" dropdown menu at the top left of the Contact Record.

Step 3

Click on "Share."

Step 4

A "Share Contact/s" pop-up will appear.

Step 5

Click the dropdown menu for "Select Community/Team."

Step 6

Select the Community where you want to share the contacts by clicking on the name.

Step 7

Select how you are sharing the Contacts;

  1. All Members assigned to the Contact/s.

  2. Round Robin assignment to the Contact/s.

  3. Click on a specific Community Member name to assign them all of the Contact/s.

Step 8

Click the blue "Share" button to complete the share process of the Contact/s or "Close" to abandon the action.

*Note: This action will create a "shared pending contact" in the Contacts list and the Contact Record within the Activity tab of the person with whom you shared the contact. They will then need to accept or decline the shared Contact manually.
