Automations vs. Bulk Email/Newsletter Campaigns

You have these fantastic communication tools for automation and bulk email/newsletter campaigns; what's the difference?

Automations

The Automations tool enables you to create a specific communication cadence via email, text, calls, and internal task reminders to yourself and other tools. These automations can be manually added to individual contacts, added en masse, triggered based on a tag or contact source, or even set up to automate NEW automation based on an action. You can pause and restart automations assigned to a contact.

Bulk Email Campaigns

Bulk email campaigns allow you to create a single communication with an email or newsletter template that can be sent on a specific date and time. This requires a separate SMTP email to help with deliverability rates for bulk emails.

*Note: If you need to write an email to 200 or more Contacts, we recommend using an Automation or Bulk Email/Newsletter.

What is an SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) Server?

SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. An SMTP server helps prevent spam by verifying the sender's account before email delivery and protects your IP reputation.

SMTP increases the delivery rate by restricting spam and protecting IP reputation. SMTP notifies senders if an email address is invalid or incorrect.

You will need a third-party SMTP server to send Bulk emails via crmgrow or if you anticipate sending out Automations over your provider's allotted email allowance.
